‘Kids they say ‘are real hard work’
‘And make you all stressed out’
Which makes it fine to shift the blame
To them, ‘they made me shout’
Then every time you shrug it off
And put the cause on them
It makes it easier each time
To shout at them again
So I pose a different point of view
Can you consider this
What would happen if instead
You gave a hug or kiss?
Cos from a child a naughty act
Is a cry for a helping hand
They have big feelings they can’t hold
And need you to understand
I know its hard, it hurts sometimes
To swallow your anger and fear
But take a breath, bend down and smile
To let them know you’re near
Course that won’t happen every time
Cos you are human too
But it’ll make a difference to your child
If you make it just a few
And then one day when they’ve all grown
It’s your turn to annoy
They’ll offer you a hug or kiss
And fill your heart with joy.
